ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
Thank you for your interest in submitting your abstract to SBIC 2024. We welcome all interested individuals or groups to share their research and educational works.

Deadline Extension:
Due to overwhelming requests, we have extended the deadline for abstract submissions to 13 February 2024.
General Information:
- Abstract categories on scientific research and educational exhibit are welcomed. In addition, quality improvement studies may be submitted under the scientific research category. Case reports and pictorial reviews with unique learning points may be submitted under the educational exhibit category.
- Scientific research is eligible for either oral or e-poster presentation. Educational exhibit will be eligible for e-poster format only. Kindly refer to the “Forms of Presentation” section for more details.
- For scientific research submissions, kindly Indicate the preferred mode of presentation (e-poster or oral presentation). The final decision rests with the review committee and will be communicated upon abstract acceptance.
- Submissions must be of original work and not the intellectual property of others.
- Previously published work will not be accepted.
- If the presenting work involves animal experiments or use of human subjects, authors are to ensure that IACUC or IRB approval has been obtained prior to presentation where applicable.
- No identifiable information should be included, and patient confidentiality should be safeguarded.
- Authors retain the copyright to the submitted material and agree to provide SBIC with limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to present and archive the content. SBIC agrees not to sub-license the content.
- Abstract submission will be in .pdf format only.
- Up to two optional figures / tables / graphs in .jpg format may be submitted along with the abstract file.
- Abstracts must be exclusively submitted through the conference website at https//sbic.asia . Submissions via email will not be accepted.
- No revisions will be permitted post-submission due to logistical reasons. If revisions are necessary, the original abstract may be withdrawn and a new abstract entry may be submitted before the abstract submission deadline. If the first abstract is not withdrawn and there are duplicate entries found at abstract submission deadline, all entries will be automatically disqualified.
- An acknowledgment of receipt will be automatically emailed upon online submission.
- Abstract acceptance notifications will be sent by email.
- If online submission is unavailable, contact the Conference Secretariat at enquiry@conectere.com.sg for assistance.
- Authors will be responsible for their conference registration and travel arrangements. SBIC does not provide honorarium or travel expense reimbursement.
Abstract Format
- Abstracts must be exclusively written in English.
- Abstract should not exceed 400 words(excluding author details and legends). Abstract submission will be in pdf format only. Up to two optional figures/tables/graphs in jpg format may be submitted along with the abstract file. They should be embedded with legend in the abstract itself before converting the file to pdf.
- For scientific research abstracts, kindly use the following sub-headings:

- Conclusion
- For educational exhibit abstracts, kindly use the following sub-headings:

Forms of Presentation
For scientific research oral presentation, an allocated time slot on a specified date and time will be provided. Presentation will be in-person and duration will be limited to 7 minutes, followed by a 3- minute question and answer session. Presentations exceeding the 7 minute duration will automatically incur a penalty as part of the judging criteria for the best presentation award.
Accepted e-posters (scientific research or educational exhibit) will be showcased on on-site computers and electronic devices throughout the conference.
All authors for both presentation categories are required to prepare their presentation files in Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation (PPT) format, adhering to a screen ratio of 16:9 and using the Microsoft Office’s default fonts. To facilitate submission, ensure the presentation file does not exceed 200MB and upload the file via the conference website at https//sbic.asia by 10 May 2024, 11:59 SGT. The deadline for final submission will not be extended. Further details on submission of final presentation will be sent to the authors of accepted abstracts via acceptance mail.
Withdrawal
Should you need to withdraw your abstract, please notify by sending an email to enquiry@conectere.com.sg. Include your name, confirmation number, and the title of the abstract. The deadline for withdrawing an accepted abstract is 30 April 2024. Presenting authors must also register for the conference by 30 April 2024 or the abstract will be automatically withdrawn. Non- presentation of an accepted abstract without a withdrawal notice may lead to the disqualification of all co-authors from submitting an abstract at subsequent symposiums for 2 years.
Recognising Merit (Prize Awards)
Cash prizes will be awarded to two scientific oral presentations, one scientific e-poster and one educational exhibit e-poster.
Security
All presentation files submitted to SBIC 2024 will be securely stored before and after presentation. No unauthorised access will be allowed.
